Policy
Conditions
of Use:
1.
The purpose of the Oatridge College Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is to deliver
on-line learning opportunities to the College community. All staff and students
are entitled to use Moodle in connection with their
association with Oatridge College.
- A username and password are used to access Moodle. Users should keep their password confidential
and not disclose it to anyone else, attempt to log on as a different user
or use a computer which is logged in as another user. Any problems with
logging into Moodle should be reported to the Resource
Centre where staff will be able to help. You may be asked to show your student
card as proof of identity before changes to a Moodle
account can be made.

Some resources on Moodle
are universally available for all staff and students. Other resources may only
be available to specific groups or course members. The structure and content of these courses
are developed at the discretion of the named tutor(s).
- Use of
inappropriate language and material will not be permitted. Users must not use obscene, profane,
lewd, vulgar, rude, inflammatory, threatening or disrespectful
language. Users must not use Moodle to post material that is profane or obscene
(pornography) or that advocates illegal acts or violence or discrimination
toward others.
- Do not add anything offensive to your
profile and please do not add any personal and private information that
you would not wish others to see
- Users are
reminded that text, images and other information created by third parties
will be subject to the laws of copyright, and that this includes material
found elsewhere on the Internet. Messages posted to the discussion area
must not include such material without the copyright owner's permission.
- Users are
expected to respect the right to privacy of others. Users must not repost
a message that was sent to them privately without permission of the person
who sent the message. Nor must users post private information about
another person or post contact information (eg.
address, phone number) about any other person.
- You should be
aware that Moodle uses e-mail to communicate
with registered users and messages will be sent to the e-mail account
which you specify during registration.

By using the Oatridge College computer systems
in whole or in part you are also agreeing to comply with the Acceptable Use
Policy for ICT.
